A Steamy University of Minnesota Press Fall Catalog

Aaron Hautala and Michael Nordskog are happy to report that the fall catalog for the University of Minnesota Press prominently features "The Opposite of Cold: The Northwoods Finnish Sauna Tradition" and many other titles. Their sauna book is also already available for pre-order at Amazon.com.

Ringing in a New Year

Spent much of the last week of 2009 chasing down image details with the University of Minnesota Press, then spent the last hours before the New Year in the sauna with good friends and cold beer at the ready. The morning after the outdoor mercury plunged to -32 degrees, but in the sauna at 8 a.m. it was still a relatively accomodating +18.

Meanwhile, intrepid photographer Aaron Hautala was pinballing around the Arrowhead collecting the last images for the book.
